Parting Thoughts from John

At the conclusion of the service on Sunday, August 21st, John made the following announcement.

To the family of Emmanuel,

After discussion, prayer and the attempt to imagine our future with all that lies before us following our move back to Connecticut, Judyth and I have realized that this will be our last August as your priest-in-charge at Emmanuel. These eight years have been a marvelous time for us, learning of the storied history of Emmanuel, Dublin, and the Monadnock region, as well as leaning in toward all of you, the members and friends of Emmanuel. We feel deeply blessed to have shared worship together, as well as the give and take, ups and downs of our lives in this covenant of the mutual sharing our stories, hopes and dreams.

We are a bit wistful in leaving this mountain vista, but know deep in our hearts that Emmanuel will be well-served by dynamic priests and families in the years to come. Know of our gratitude, and of our prayers for all of you in your bright, unfolding future. God be with you!
