Introducing Graham Ormerod, Organist-In-Training
Graham
Ormerod graduated as a top ten student from Keene High School in
June. In addition to his academic achievements, Graham has been very
involved in the music program at Keene High; he played alto saxophone in
Concert and Marching Bands all 4 years, served as Drum Major his senior
year, and played in the Jazz Ensemble for the last 3 years. He
participated in Concert Allstate, Jazz Allstate, and New England Music
Festivals and he was this year's recipient of the John Philip Sousa Band
award.
Outside
of School, Graham has been a substitute for the Keene Jazz Orchestra.
After being introduced to the organ by Bob Englund, he has continued his
organ study with the Young Organists Collaborative. He is grateful to
Emmanuel Church for allowing him the opportunity to grow further as an
organist.
Graham
was a member of the Keene Interact Club and National Honor Society. He
participated in 4-H Robotics, the Math Team, and the Hiking Club.
He will be attending Williams College in the fall where he will pursue a liberal arts degree with a major in Math.
