Black Lives Matter in Dublin
No church or community is blind to the growing Movement for Black Lives, also known as the "Black Lives Matter" movement. The Dublin Community Church has been holding regular Saturday demonstrations on the town circle Saturdays at mid-day for the last many weeks.
Townspeople are gathering to show their support for the movement by making and displaying home made signs. Many of these feature the names of victims of police violence as well as messages of hope and support for the wider movement.
As we all learn to begin on our work of Anti-Racism and grow in our awareness of the privileges we enjoy, perhaps we might consider the how we can show our support for the movement for Black Lives and the protestors in town. Many are joining the protests on Saturdays, while others are signaling their support with honks and waves as they transit through the circle.
